Hm. I can't really say what the significance of the title is right now, but it's frustrating.
Anyway. We're in Kuwait, and the base is one of those ones that makes you wonder how in the world they can classify this as a combat zone. There's everything from a Starbucks to a KFC on this little piece of dust and gravel--there's even a day spa. It's ridiculous. All this westernization and they can't get us parts for our aircraft.
So, there's not really all that much to talk about. We're trying to train, but the aircraft aren't cooperating. It's really really hot out (130 or so), and the weather stinks as far as visibility goes.
Still, life's not too bad. I'm happy... There's more to that than I can say, but I'm happy.
Happy Independence Day to all of you. It's my last one "defending our freedom," and I couldn't be more pleased about that. Next year there will be fireworks... And maybe birthday presents, but that's part of what I can't say. All good, though.

I am so glad you're happy. Check your email if you get a chance. Love you, Shan
We're on a different server, so my address is different, and for some reason I can't send anything to your iwon address...
How was the retreat?
Can you send to my hotmail address and I'll start checking it: pastorshannon@hotmail.com or morgank@warner.edu? can you give me your new address?
The retreat was amazing. I'll tell you all about it once I can email you.
Love you,
Shan
Oh...and if you call...and I don't answer right away...call back in like 2 minutes. We can't have cell phones on the floor, but I can always step out and answer.
...and I'm always patient.
i liked that base quite a bit, even though there is no supply system. and the starbucks wasn't done yet. and the a/c in the tents broke sometimes. but it was a good base. everything nice and close to each other. Gosh, i don't think i will ever forget that weather. I have been praying that you would at least be contented. it's nice to see you are actually 'happy'. good. wish we could hang out.
