Striking images from around the world

No, really. They're admittedly not all from the same day (I got the title from the BBC's daily "In Pictures" tagline), but they are from around the world.

Most of this batch are from Singapore.

Two are from Kuwait--I didn't take many pics at Udairi because it was so reminiscent of Al Asad, and the bleakness of the entire Middle Eastern waste doesn't excite my sense of wonder too much these days, though the possibility of seeing Sinai is seriously cool.

And one is of my MEU Commander and the MEU Sergeant Major (not the same SgtMaj I've mentioned before, although a seemingly cool guy) when we flew them from the ship into Fort Irwin for a training exercise.

I'll write about this latest port, and post more pictures, after we've left!

Oh, and in case you're lost on where to find my WestPac album, just click on the link under "Illustrations" on the left-hand side of this page.

Edit: Just discovered that Sinai is actually in Egypt, and although we may well catch a glimpse, the possibility of the Egyptian government letting us go on a sightseeing tour in their airspace is severely small. Or else I'd tell my pilots to turn in a flight plan for freaking Giza.
